Logi can't get enough of this great meal.
Your dog will love it, too!
Yield: About 24 heaping cups
| 4 lbs | Beef |
| 1/2 cup | Water |
| 8 | Large Baking Potatoes |
| 3 cups | Brown Rice |
| 3 cups | Oatmeal (uncooked) |
| 4 cups | Cookied Zucchini |
| 2 Tbs | Powdered Milk |
In a LARGE kettle brown beef until fully cooked, stirring often. Add the 1/2 cup of water if the meat begins to stick to the pan. Drain excess fat. Bake potatoes until fully cooked. Cool, peel and discard skins in your compost heap (the potato skins do not seem to break down during canine digestion). Break the potatoes into the meat. Mix thoroughly. Add cooked rice, zucchine, and uncooked oatmeal and the powdered milk. Mix thoroughly. Divide into serving size portions. Our preference is to use rinse and reuse containers. We put one serving into each container. Three days worth are kept in our refrigerator at all times and the remaining portions are kept in the freezer until we are ready to use them.
Please consult your veterinarian to discuss the proper diet for your dog. Diets vary depending on age, weight, lifestyle and health. This recipe is tailored to Logi - a young, high energy one year old. Older dogs generally require less protein and more fiber.
