What is carob?
The fruit of the carob tree is a pod which is then ground into a fine powder. Carob is completely natural, virtually fat-free, rich in pectin, is non-allergenic, has abundant protein, and has no oxalic acid, which interferes with absorption of calcium. Carob is also high in fiber. Dogs with a sensitive stomach do very well with carob.
Is carob the same as chocolate?
No. Chocolate is VERY DANGEROUS for any pet to consume. Chocolate contains theobromine and can be toxic to dogs in large enough quantities. Theobromine is a compound in the same family as caffeine.
Is carob safe for dogs?
YES! Because carob does not contain any of the dangerous ingredients found in the cocoa bean, like allergy-producing antibodies or the caffeine stimulant theobromine. CAROB IS COMPLETELY SAFE to give your pooch. It's the canine confection they love to eat.
Does Natertot Bakery contain preservatives?
Natertot Bakery does not contain artificial preservatives. We do, however, oven dry our products to discourage growth of bacteria, yeast and molds.
What is the shelf life of Natertot Bakery?
Our products are oven dried and have a shelf life of about 6 months. Our baked goods can be stored in the freezer for 2-3 months (thaw at room temperature).
How do I place an order?
Local orders may be placed by calling (920)-842-1159. Orders that require shipping can be placed online. On average orders are completed in 3 days. Local customers will receive notification when orders are ready for pick up. All other orders will ship via USPS Priority Mail.
